In exploring the manifold strategies employed to navigate the communication gap between the speaker and the listener, a rich tapestry of linguistic compensatory tools emerges. These strategies, as elucidated by Canale and Swain (1980) and Tarone (1980), encompass a spectrum of communication devices such as circumlocution, approximation, repetition, word invention, request, self-correction, and both L1 and L2 translation, along with the strategic shift of topics.
