The implementation of Regional Head Elections is a mandate for a democratic country. In a rule of law democracy, principles of direct, general, clean, honest, and fair elections are upheld. Law Number 10 of 2016 on the Second Amendment to Law Number 1 of 2015 concerning the Determination of Government Regulation in Lieu of Law Number 1 of 2014 concerning the Election of Governors, Regents, and Mayors becoming Law, assigns tasks and authorities to the Badan Pengawas Pemilihan Umum (Bawaslu) in supervising and enforcing the law of regional head elections in order to realize direct, general, free, secret, and honest and fair elections. This research aims to determine the role of the General Election Supervisory Agency and to identify the ideal concept in handling violations of Regional Head Elections. There are several obstacles in the implementation of the General Election Supervisory Agency's authority, including conducting evaluations of the supervision of the implementation of elections and the process of receiving and following up on reports of election violations. These obstacles can be overcome by forming an ideal concept for handling violations of regional head elections by Badan Pengawas Pemilihan Umum. The research results show that the ideal concept for handling violations of regional head elections in the future is to grant greater authority to facilitate the Election Supervisory Agency in uncovering election violation events, including violations of administration, criminal, ethical codes, and other legal violations.
